this long-worked land so many centuries on the anvil
[the Dark] will rise not through the spilling of blood but through the coldness in the hearts of men
with good attention
this world and all its perilous beauty

Such individuals lead vigorous lives, are open to a variety of experiences, keep on learning to the day they die, and have strong ties and commitments to other people and to the environment in which they live.
